This Rust-Oleum Hard Hat Top Coat Aerosol 2137 is a fast-drying, short oil soya alkyd-based spray paint. It is formulated with lead- and chromate-free pigments. It is recommended for use over Rust-Oleum Hard Hat primers or properly prepared painted substrates, and is intended for small maintenance jobs or touch-ups in light industrial exposures, normal humidity, and interior applications. The paint has a high gloss appearance and is available in Moss Green RAL6005. It comes in a 500 ml spray can. The propellant is dimethyl ether. The recommended film thickness is 25 µm dry (averagely 100 µm wet). The VOC content is 640-650 g/l. Drying times at 20°C/50% relative humidity are: to touch in 15 minutes, to handle in 30 minutes, and recoat within 1 hour or after 48 hours. Full hardness is achieved in 7 days. The paint is heat resistant up to 100°C (dry heat), though discoloration may occur above 65°C. Theoretical coverage is 2.5 m² per spray can at 25 µm dry, with practical coverage depending on substrate porosity and roughness. It can be applied on bare metal, wood, and concrete.
